GREIF OPENS STATE OF THE ART IBC CENTRE COMBINING PRODUCTION OF NEW & RECONDITIONED IBCS
The fully comprehensive offering enables customers to combine transport of new, used and re-conditioned IBCs on one truck coming from one plant, delivering significant safety-, sustainability- and commercial benefits.
Over one-hundred colleagues produce the full range of Greif IBCs in the new facility, including the industry leading GCUBE™ intermediate bulk container, while the latest technology is being deployed to recondition used IBCs.
EarthMinded™ Life Cycle Services collect, clean, reshape, recondition and test industrial containers for reuse and recycling, extending the life of the products and responsibly recycling their component raw materials at the end of their life cycles. In case of plastics that cannot be washed and re-used, the plastic is scrapped and re-extruded, finding a second life within the Greif Network.
Significantly, none of the processes are outsourced and all processes are consolidated under one roof, guaranteeing the production- and customer service excellence Greif is renowned for.
“The opening of the new facility in Mendig highlights Greif’s market-leading customer service proposition and we have plans to expand that model across other regions”, commented President and Chief Executive Office Pete Watson.
